Some of the main activities to do in Christchurch include: shopping on New Regent Street, visiting the Cardboard Cathedral (a building made of cardboard!), or having a drink on Victoria Street, a lively street in the city center.
On weekends, escape to the coastal town of Kaikoura and enjoy one of the many boat tours, you may even get a chance to see dolphins and whales! If you are looking for thrills, then let yourself be tempted by a JetBoat tour on the Waimakariri River or discover the beauty of the South Island by boarding the TranzAlpine train to Greymouth.
